I'm very surprised the new Canon XA10 has not sparked any conversation here. It has 1080p, native 24p, LANC, manual controls for nearly every function, and is small enough to fit into a very small housing. Will this camera be a big step up from the HFS21 or not since it still only has one chip?

The very small size combined with still being "on the pro side" would make it a perfect choice for an underwater housing.
Even though it only has one, the quality has been improved greatly (larger pixels) from older single chip models. Factoring in the much lower price, I'd still think it's absolutely ideal for an underwater cam.

Thanks. Those are exactly my thought. I hope the housing manufacturers are working on fitting it into a housing.
