Hi, apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place (this is Lou and not Stew).
anyway there is a programme on channel 5 tuesday about the shark attacks in the red sea recently.
Judging by the name "Red Sea Jaws" it may be portraying the sharks in the wrong way but thought I would post the link here in case people wanted to watch it

Looks like everyones favourite " sausage fritter " I mean Eric Ritter is involved in the programme.
Stew
PS Seems Andy Gray and his hairy monkey might be right in their assumptions that women dont know anything. I mean if they cant get a tv date and time correct how on earth will they get the offside rules right. LOL

I loved the advert for the shark thriller film 'The reef' during the ad break ...

Hi all,
Well it wasn't as bad as it might have been. The experts managed to make the obvious sound positively scientific "more people=more shark encounters-gosh really!?" Their topography arguement is nonsense given that it hasn't changed for a long time.
I also remember shark attack research from South Africa in the 80's where most attacks on people involved bites to the buttocks-human beings are typically quite meaty there! The program did not mention the overfishing issue, which seems to me to be quite an obvious causation.
Saying all that, it did not go after the mindless killer idea-and emphasised that if shark behaviour has changed, then people are the mosy likely cause.

Damn missed it wondered where it was. is there a ch 5 +1?

I just watched it over Slingbox and it's typical of programing nowadays with a heavy dose of hyperbole and over-dramatization. It's more critical of the Egyptian response than anything else.
A bit of BS with the stats though. They left out the Oceanic White Tip incidents (including a death of 2) over the last few years. I hate bad journalism with poor research. It just reduces the show to drivel entertainment.
I did find some parts interesting, including the emaciated mako shark and especially the shark feeding habituation theory. I'm very surprised with Ralph Collier's insistence that they hunt the one shark they've identified.
