Split & Resave Video Shots

2 posts
  1. Got a GoPro video to attach to my dslr housing for an upcoming JASA trip. My plan is to incorporate some closeup video shots in my Pro Show Gold slide slow. To this end I'm looking for a simple, easy to use program that will let me split a long continuous video shot into multiple short segments. & re-save each short clip in the original file format & quality (lossless). This is mainly to help conserve hard drive space on my laptop during the trip by deleting the junk. I have Premiere Elements 9 & Win 7 Movie Maker but haven't had much luck with either trying to do this task in a simple manner. Pro Show Gold will import video files, but I'd like to use only short clips that require minimal trimming. Any suggestions for a simple third party program that is mainly for splitting & saving video clips?

  2. Yes, download MPEG Streamclip. http://www.squared5.com/ Its free, easy to use and bugless. You can transcode to any format and pic and choose the scenes you want to use by easily setting in and out points
