Victor sets a new record on Flickr

Our good friend Victor (Vazuw) put an image up on his Flickr page that has had over a thousand views this week. Amazing for an underwater image. Thought I'd share it since he is too humble.

Its easy to get a thousand hits a day....add some nude ladies underwater!.......Have a look at some of the quality nudes underwater. Some of these guys have hits running into the Millions.

I'd love to take some of the credit - but Victor was taking top-class award winning images long before he dived with me!

That said, I do think an essential element to producing memorable underwater images is to dive the right way, to give yourself every opportunity to produce the shots. And that is what workshops provide - on my Cayman one, for example, every single dive trip (bar the first morning) is non-standard and the dive centre doesn't offer it at any other time of the year. Plus I believe that the different sites we do, all give photographers different challenges in understanding, controlling and using light underwater - which I think really feed back on each other to help in all your underwater photography.

I agree with Tim. Great image, and I am very jealous.

Incidentally, this image was a "Photo of the Day" on the FiNS Flickr group in January, and was second place for "Photo of the Month," and January had some extremely tough competition.

Great shot Victor. Another note, he also had some other good split shots at sting ray city that week. He showed those during the evening reviews. Great to dive with you Victor and enjoy all that great homemade food.
