Newbie to UW Photography - First shots

  1. Hi all,

    I've been diving for a few years now, but just got my first underwater housing. I am running a Lumix TZ5 (aka TZ15) with the Lumix housing. I am also using a Magic Filter with available light, which has allowed me to shoot flash free to about 12m.

    My next project will be to add a DIY 67mm adaptor to the front of my housing so I can add a proper screw mount filter (unfortunately magic don't do a 67 screw mount!). Are there any 67mm screw on filters with similar properties to a magic filter? Also, been looking at subsee's and like the added magnification, will they work OK with my current set-up?

    Thanks

    Bryce, Melbourne

  2. Hi Bryce,

    Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'd recommend you play a little with adjusting the white balance to try and improve your blues a touch. The last turtle shot is a good example. I get something that looks like this;

    It's a lot tougher to get a great turtle shot than most folks think.

    Sorry I can't help with your Subsee question, hopefully Keri will jump in.

    Cheers,

    Steve
