If they only could put this all in a HC-9 body I have seen some of the 4K tech at some shows. Just amazing.

Man, get with the program, I just ordered a 16K camera. (Kidding aside, the 4K stuff I have seen is amazing. Saw some 4K cameras on a 4K screen. Unreal, more impressive than any 3-D thing I have seen.)

Totally agree Ted showed some 4K, 5K and 3K (slo mo) stuff via a 2K projector and it looked awesome compared to Alexa and Sony F35 footage. I can only imagine how great it wold look on a 4K projector and a movie screen with no perforations (but that's another point)

Australia is due for delivery in April and street price is $18,000 AUD for pre sale at a couple of dealers and I know people who have already paid.

Nor sure whether Gates will make a housing for it, I think they are still undecided.

Do you mean that RED one or Epic S or Scarlet will be cheaper.... maybe yes. It just depends how much an actual working unit will be with RED but They would definitely be close.

I'm not buying anything yet...

Ok getting confused. Did you say $18,000 AUS for the Sony 4k camera, or did I misunderstand? (hey wouldn't be the first time!). I thought Scarlet fixed lens was supposed to be around $8000 US (??AUS), but never heard a price for Epic-S (other than the very old price of $3000 US (??AUS) for Scarlet with detachable lens). Too many currencies going on here!! Also the same here for me - I'm not buying anything.........yet!

EPIC S has been strongly hinted at a price of $12,000 body only,

EPIC X is $28,000 confirmed

So I reckon RED 1's will have to come in under $12,000 as you could buy a better spec Epic S for $12,000
