Olympus 5050 with TTL strobe (or: C5060 or C5050?)

  1. Welcome to my first post :-)

I'm using matthias' digital adapter with my Olympus C4000 and had no problems at all -> just works well.

I'm planing to upgrade to the C5060 or C5050, for both models an interesting strobe solution is available:

For c5060 from Ikelite: http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/oly_5060.html (Housing with strobe circuit)

For the c5050 again from matthias: http://www.muenster.de/~matthias/blitz/oly2nikone.htm (An Olympus2Nikon-converter)

I would like to use the C5060 because of the short shutter lag but with the converter I could re-use my Sea&Sea 60/N.... and the C5050 has a brighter lens.

    Best wishes from austria!

  2. Satura,

I have been trying to get on to Matthias for several weeks now but I am getting no reply....I have an Oly C-5050 with the oly PT-015 housing. I still have to purchase a TTL strobe.....any suggestions??.

I also have an OLY C-40 in a PT-012 housing with an INON AD series WAL plus an Aquasea 140 stobe which operates off a simple locally designed preflash trigger which although I get the occasional over exposure with this rig, but it and I have very few problems. There is something to be said for simplicity....haha!!

??? He usually replies within 10minutes.... (And ships within 48hours :-))I just ordered the new Adapter for Nikon, see: http://www.muenster.de/~matthias/blitz/oly2nikond.htm

I have several strobes from my old nikonos setup, I would go for a YS60. compact and quite powerfull. You'll get those used for under 200$
