Suggested travel plug converter/ surge protector

4 posts
  1. Now that I'm finally diving outside the Caribbean I need an international power plug adaptor and it would be nice to also have a surge protector plus at least 2 points for me to plug into.

There are a few brands out there and some get very mixed "reviews".

    Any suggestions?

  2. I have had a Belkin and a Kensington one .. both were good .. both i broke or lost .. I got mine at airports.

  3. For standard 120V, check this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F9H220-TVL-Tr...8363&sr=8-2

    get any odd adapters needed

    For international:

    http://www.amazon.com/Tripshell-Internatio...363&sr=8-14

then get whatever adapters you need for multiple outlets

    Also see:

    http://www.amazon.com/Tripshell-Internatio...ter-Protecti...

This one has built-in surge protect:

    http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Internatio...0480&sr=1-2

    For universal international adapters, see:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ISWA0G

    The best I've seen is:

    http://www.amazon.com/SM-60-Universal-Prot...O/ref=de_a_smtd

Though you will still need one adapter for the local outlets. I've shown above in international adapters.

    I'm using this setup.

    Lots of different options.

  4. I have yet to see surge protectors not fail. Never used one myself, and afaik all my stuff is still working. Plug adapters can be had anywhere. It doesnt matter which one as they're purely mechanical.

The Caribbean has some of the worst power as well, so if you survived that, im sure you'll be fine
