someone suggested I post a few of my photos here. I don't know if you'll like them and it was hard for me to single out one to show off; you can see them all here, on my web site. There are 4 pages worth.
But here's one which tonal temp I like :
Let me know how you like them all,
Erik
so noone loves those photos, hates them, want to critique them, give advice, opinions, contrast techniques, ask questions.
Hmmm, no one cares
I enjoyed your website and your Maldives gallery...........your underwater shots have an overall "soft" look, especially the anemones.......interesting but different
You have a nice eye for composition.......thanks for sharing
Karl
I find a lot of the colors in your images very flat - with a few exceptions (a couple of the Moray images have color I really like). What kind of equipment are you using - is it an internal flash being used).
Some interesting soft Anemone shots which are really interesting.
Fish tend to be from above and looking down rather than shooting upwards and below which generally is more pleasing.
Some nice subjects though.
Thanks for sharing,
M
Hi/salut Frenchguy !
actually your photos are not too bad ! .. I particularly liked scenes with several species of sessile invertebrates (sponges, soft corals), although I suggest you enlarge them more to see all the details
hope to see more of your pictures posted here
cheers/a+
PS: Paris .. si tu savais comment ça me manque en ce moment !!!
Hi Frenchguy and welcome to Wetpixel. Small world!
I think it might be fogging in the housing that creates the soft look.
Cheers
James
I agree with James on the fog filter... Are you using silica gel packs?
Hiya all,
I am using the sillicate thingie. I don't know if they're really soft, that's interesting. What do you guys do for White Balance ? Also, I use the UW case made for the Canon S serie (I use an S50 tight now) with the built-in flash, no external flash. I correct that in Photoshop. "JamesW", the name sounds familiar, where did we see each other before ?
Erik.

Ah, yeah. Did you advise me to post here ? I follow your advice
Good advice eh? ;-)
Cheers
James
The one you chose to post is the one I like best. As someone else said, it has some flatness to it but in this image it works cause it has more of a nice artsy, painted look to it. (don't know if that was intentional)
well, yeah, that's why I posted it. While I love scuba diving and photography, these are pretty much my first try at UW photography and dives 15-20. I expect you guys have slightly better equipment, buyancy skills and diving experience too
