Dioptre recommendations for Nikon 105mm Macro

  1. Hi folks,

Any thoughts on dioptre recommendations to use with a Nikon 105mm Macro- or- do you use one at all - with this lens?

Looking at Hoya or Kood as a possibility.

  2. I used a Hoya +2 for pygmies, could have done with a +4 though.

Personally, I would now be more inclined to use a wet dioptre, otherwise you are stuck looking for the really small stuff all dive (not that this is a great problem, it certainly focuses the mind!)

Use a nikkor 5T or 6T. They are no longer made but you should be able to pick them up on EBay

  4. The T3/T4 Nikon diopters (no longer made but available in places) are 52mm which fit the Nik 105 AF. The T5/T6 are 62mm and can be used with adapter rings. A wet diopter that you can add as needed in front of the port is a good solution as well (as mentioned already).

  5. i recently get FIT +5 and +8...is it super.....very nice
