Problems with new YS250 strobes!!!!!! HELP

5 posts
  1. I have now for the second time a brand new strobe YS250 that comes out off the box, fires a couple off times in test position and then stops firing. :)

They won't work any more. Even with cable, in slave or even in test position.

Has anyone have the same bad experience?

I thought Subtronic was the most defective strobe! I don't want to go on holiday with Sea&Sea strobe YS250. :)

  2. Sorry to hear your having trouble. At first blush, it sounds like it might be a battery issue. Does the Target light work? The battery connection can be a little tricky, are you happy with the connection?

How long did you charge the new battery before trying the new strobe?

Battery is in good condition. Have charged it 2 times until full.

Target light works. I can here the strobes capacitors charging when it is turned off for a while.

I have another new YS250PRO, who is working fine, but with this one the ready light is always one, no beep after recharging the capacitors.

Pfff, have had it with the 250.

I know one thing, there is no good strong flash on the market that works without problems, look at Subtronic and the last Seacam. Also more defective than working :)

  4. 2009 i bought a brand new Ikelite DS-125 and it never fired.

I had to send it back on my expenses and Ikelite changed the strobe tube and sent it back in the US on their expenses.

Freight from Costa Rica and from Miami to Roatan was about 250$ i had to pay... Arghhhh!

Ask S&S if there is a way to test the strobe tube before you send it back.

    Chris

  5. The distributor in the Benelux took them back and i've got new ones.

I hope they will survive this weekend. :)
