Inon z220 battery recommendations

  1. Hiya,

A search on this topic in the forum didn't provide me with a conclusive answer, so I was wondering if anyone who's owned & used z220 strobes could recommend a reliable type of AA NIMH rechargeable battery for this strobe. I have read of issues surrounding some high capacity types that overheat in the z240s - is this problem common to the older z220?

    Many thanks for any advice!

  2. Can't speak for the 220. We shoot 4 Z-240 and have used Enlops for 2 years with out problems and they are recommended by Inon for our strobes.

  3. I have several Z220s and have been using Eneloops with them for several years now with great success. In fact I am presently in Anchorage on my home from a trip to HI and had two (one was a back up and not used) along with one S&S250. One Z was used in slave mode as fill light on each dive. With the power turned down -2 to -3 I was easily able to shoot 200-300 shots in a day on one charge.

  4. Thank you!

  5. I have used both Eneloops and Ansmann low-discharge rechargeable batteries without any trouble for several years.
