Where in the world on Cayman Brac did you see the sea horse and the starfish???
![]()
Star Fish are easy to find .. Sea Horses less so .. but they are around I have now seen 4 in Grand Cayman and most in the last year !
Star Fish is just a case of knowing or asking where !
I have only spent a little time in Brac (live in Grand Cayman though) its all here .. just got to get lucky or ask !

Great pictures, David,
With so many photos already taken of Caribbean fishes it is great to see someone producing a fresh set of images. My favourite is the rock beauty.
Alex
Folks,
What a New Year's present! Actually having someone LOOK at these images ![]()
* Giles, yes, the originals look like the thousands, no MILLIONS of underwater images made every year. Some better exposed than others, but still same old , same old....The computer play is just exploring image ideas....
* James obviously know Adobe programs so well he can discerne the tools used (!!!) Good thing I saved each finished file copy as a PSD (Photoshop Document) for future use.
* Jim, the starfish was literally laying in the sand about 75' from the M/V Tibbetts bow. Saw it on the swim over, stopped on the way back to the boat and clicked 3 frames. The seahorse was found by dive guide Jason Belport (a great underwater shooter with numerous photos of Sandy, a dolphin who stayed around the Brac for a year or so.) He found this 4" orange one in 35' of water on a site right in front of the Brac Reef Beach Resort where I stayed over Thanksgiving. I'm taking a group back for Thanksgiving week of 2004.......Very photography friendly place with 3 boat dives/day AND night dives available.
* Alex, thanks for the kind words. You are one of the photogs on this site I believe are "pushing the envelope" in subsea imaging and I really like your avaialble light stuff.
More to come.......

Very nice gallery, what camera did you used?
Dave,
We recently had our HUPS "Anything Goes" digital contest, so I became well acquainted with Photoshop Filters. I love them! You ca really make art from your images if you take a little time.
My favorite is the Watercolor filter. I'll post some of my "art" later when I get home.
Cheers
James
You just may have inspired me to think outside the box and try some manipulation.
Very well done.
Also, thanks again for the assistance and advice.
Hello Dave,
Excellent artwork from the Cayman Brac trip! Fun experimentation.
Happy New Year!
Scott
