Some Fiji WA Reef shots

8 posts
  1. Hello Folks! I recently spent 11 days diving the Bligh Waters and Somosomo strait, 4 days land based from the Wananavu resort, and another 7 days ship based on the Nai'a.

I'll have some more later, but in this post I just picked out a few of my favorite reef/anthias shots. The last male anthias shot took some patience and a lot of film ;-)

All these were taken with a 7D, Tok 10-14, Zen 100mm dome, Nauticam, and 2X Z240. Really a dream rig for wide angle.

  2. Well, I can't post the rest of the pics. I hit the image number limit (again) in the first post and tried to post the remaining shots in a second post, but:

"Sorry, but when your post merges with your previous post, you will have used too many images in your combined posts"

    For goodness sakes.

  3. Great shots, loving the 3rd-to-last shot.

    What were the settings used?

    Cheers and thanks for posting.

Thank you. I honestly don't know the settings but I did not strip EXIF data from the shots so you can have a look.

  5. Lovely reminders of the beauty of FIJI. Thanks for sharing.

Every reviewer I have seen writing of Nai'a thought it was fabulous. Are you of the same opinion?

Yes, great boat and crew. We had a couple small issues but they aren't worth mentioning because we've been assured they have been addressed. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

  7. Beautiful! The edges look very sharp for such a small dome, very impressive.

Regarding the limit: 50-60kB files look fine in Wetpixel, I've found no need to post bigger ones (less danger of them being appropriated as fake orphan works, too).

Thanks a lot, and yes, I've been very happy with the mini dome. It makes things so much easier to travel and manage underwater.

And as for the file sizes, I just hate to reprocess my files for specific websites. I post them at several other places and have no problems. I've never run into a size-limit-per-thread before here. Eric explained why it's it place, but I still wish he would remove the limits and see if it really causes problems. It doesn't seem to anywhere else.

The 30 second flood control is now 10 seconds however, so that is a lot better. :-)
