  1. Hello there,

I feel like I'm really taking some sort of a chance here, this being my first post to show off photos I've taken. I do feel like I am evolving in my photography; while I generally like the results I get I do also see room for improvement. But hey, that's what the *next* dive trip is for, right? :)

Anyhow, I've included a few shots here, plus a link to my Flickr gallery if you'd like to see more. Please enjoy, and if you have any tips or constructive criticism (I do know I need to widen my depth of field and darken my backgrounds on some of this macro stuff!) I would love to hear them.

    Thanks,

    Gina

Thank you. And yes, CoCo View - I haven't heard of another place on Roatan that allows you as much diving freedom as they do.

  4. I love that place, going for my ninth trip this winter.

Excellent, and your next one will be free! :)

  6. Great shots Gina. Nice garden eels, and the toby's are cute.

What camera gear are you using?

Thank you, Don. I'm using a Canon 5DMkII in an Aquatica housing, dual Sea & Sea YS110a strobes, and a Canon 100mm macro lens. I also use a Canon 15mm fisheye and 16-35 lens, depending what I'm shooting.

It's just been in this last year that I've gotten serious about UW photography, and happily I've watched my photos go from snapshots to something a little better. Now I'm just working towards getting them to be Good, so with that in mind, I always like to hear suggestions for improvement.

  8. Nice shooting Gina!

I am in your boat, been shooting video underwater for a few years now, but just shifting to the DSLR world now... and LOVE it!! =)

Roatan brings back some good memories.. I worked there at Las Rocas resort for almost a year... good times. =)

Keep snapping happy, look forward to seeing some more up here..

    Cheers
