Intel 960 or 2600

5 posts
  1. Hello

Want to rebuild my system and cannot decide which CPU.

    INTEL CORE i7 960 or a INTEL CORE i7 2600

On-board GPU looks good but will be using a dedicated twin port GPU graphic card anyhow.

Both seem to be overclockable easy.

  2. The 2600 is newer tech and should run faster and cooler, and it's cheaper!!

  3. Thanks for that.

    Sandy Bridge it is.

Total cost for super fast PC build only $900 AUS.

  4. Just hackintosh it and you can run FCP X!

Joke apart, what specs (RAM, disk, GPU, etc) did you manage to achieve for that price?

  5. Why would I do that? Going backwards if you ask me lol.

Waiting for it to do this and that...

    Sorry $915 ...

2600 CPU and overclock it. $340 AUD

    M Board with USB3 $220

    Memory 16 GIG $180

Twin port DVI with HDMI,1 GIG graphic card $175

I got the rest of the stuff already and will build it myself.
