Lens for Tiger Sharks in Bahamas?

  1. What is a good all around lens for tiger sharks in the Bahamas? Ton 10-17mm is what I was leaning towards.

  2. I like your choice of the Tokina 10-17. The animals will be plenty close enough on occasion to shoot them at 10mm;

    f/9.5, 1/125, ISO 200, Tokina 10-17 on the 40D

    You may want to start out at about 15mm or so and see what you think.

    Have fun!

  3. I second what Steve said. I was using the Sigma 15mm FE on the MKII and my wife was using the 10-17mm on the 350D.

    Are you taking strobes?

    You will come away with some great images. Have fun.

  4. Basically, take the widest lens that you've got! The sharks will come close, and you'll then discard the shots taken at longer range...

    I'm told they'll eat almost anything!
