Tried to set up a Canon Elph Powershot, in a Canon housing to shoot with slaves strobe(SB-105), but it does not work. According to Canon tech support the is a preflash that can not be turned off. It triggers the external strobe to early, creating a bad exposure.
I wish I would have know this early on, as it would have made me choose another camera housing setup. Are there any strobes that compensate for the preflash? Has anyone had the issues with other camera setups?

I think you will need a more modern strobe. Most of the modern strobes (Inon, S&S) can easily handle the preflash bit but older ones like your Nikonos obviously can't
