  1. This encounter of dolphins (3) was alone worth the trip.

I spotted them right after I came up from a wreck dive. (the Theodore) Jumped back in with wetsuit, snorkel gear and no flash. It was great! :D

  2. That's pretty cool,

I snorkeled twice late last year with dolphins offshore on the NC coast. It was awesome. I was both time with students so I didn't had my camera ready so no pictures.

I am still kicking myself for that though...

  3. love the first photo .. great look of movement and speed in it

the second one is also good, again great movement in the photo, it also seems a little sharper, but i dont like that the orientation is wonky .. if you rotated the shot to be level and cropped it to suit ... i think it would be awesome too.

  4. I left them as I shot them. (slide)

I had to pan on them. They were pretty fast. In the second one I actually got the nose in focus. But the first one was too close to me. I do like it though cause it appears to have caught the speed they were swimming at.

  5. That must have been an amazing encounter! Was it your first? With the energy and that unforgetable, eternal smile that you captured in your photographs, it is easy to see why one become addicted to these wonderful creatures.

Your images brought back wonderful memories of my own encounter. Thanks for sharing your photos, Tiburonsita.

  6. Yes, it was my first encounter with dolphins. Thank God I had my camera ready with film for the next dive. I shot a complete roll but of course, only got a few good shots. These are a bit hard to plan for.

  7. I like the second shot. Ideally, I would have brought the dolphin down a little in the composition, but I'm sure the dolphin wasn't posing for you!

I haven't has the opportunity to dive with dolphins yet, but it's one of the things in life I'm most keen to do, so I'm jealous. I've surfed with them, but it's not quite the same.

  8. Great job! I love the second shot, as whitey does....

The fact that it's slightly askew doesn't bother me, and even adds a bit of spontaneity to the picture. What won me over with the second one was the sharp focus on the eye, whereas on the first picture the critical portions of the face were in shadow.

I snorkeled with dolphins on Roatan, in Anthony's Key Resort, but they wouldn't let anyone in the water with their own cameras :/ wanted to sell us pictures that they took, of course.
