Hi everyone, this is my first topic here!
I had a good time 11 days in Bali, based in Pemuteran, lovely little town with already some nice opportunities direct in front of where I stayed, some nice coral reefs, natural and also some man made structures.
The right part of the bay in Pemuteran was a nice little muck area and a Jetty where I found barracuda, ornate ghost pipefish, flying gunnards, different kinds of pipefish, juvenile sweetlips, juvenile batfish and juvenile emperor angelfish, all kinds of shrimp, urchin carrying crabs, boxfish, long horn cowfish and more. Just on snorkel.
Menjangan Island was beautiful and had lots of healthy looking sponges and sea fans.
Secret Bay/Gilimanuk Bay and Puri Jati were not in their original state. I heard stories about local fishermen trawling the bottom of Puri Jati destroying a lot of the marine life there.
Secret Bay appeared to be "cleaned up" of the rubbish that the creatures called their home by locals trying to 'improve' the diving. Sad.
For the diving I went with Sea Rovers Diving, which I highly recommend.
Hope you enjoy:
