I'll be in Cornwall (Redruth) next week and we're planning on a basking shark trip and maybe get a dive in too.
Can i get some camera friendly operator suggestions please? Especially ones that run trips mid week. I prefer smaller boats with less people.
We'll also need to rent gear as I'm only bringing my camera & mask, so any shops with quality rental kit would be fantastic.

The basking shark season is more end of May, start of June. Although this year in Cornwall most of the sharks passed by and headed north (presumably because they didn't find good feeding conditions there this year). Late May, early June 2011 saw 100s of sightings further north at Isle of Man.
A few sharks may be around now, but there won't be reliable sightings at this time of year, nor will there be large groups (which makes them easier to find).
I would concentrate on enjoying Cornwall's great diving and if you head to the western most sites, you never know what you might spot from the boat.
