1st Attempt at UW fashion photography

  1. I had a photoshoot yesterday in a pool with a model and an makeup artist for their portfolio and mine, Things went pritty well, she looked a bit uncomfortable in the photos at the beginning though she started getting more relaxed.

The pool had alot of particles in it so some of the more tricky lighting shots i got a bit of backscatter in, though today i will be trying again.

But for now here are some pics, let me know what you think. I was using a d90 and tokina 10-17 with 2 ds 160s.

  3. I like the fourth image: it's all in the expression. I'm impressed by your technique, too - I've found pool photography very, very much more difficult than it looks.

    :)

  4. Maybe a different lens will work better . I found the 10-17 mm distortion too much for models .

  5. Good start. One point, train your models to work in the plane of the image. With any wide angle lens, particularly 10-17, any knees, hands, feet etc that extend toward the camera will be distorted as in your first pic. I think 10-17 is OK to use but only at the 17 end

  6. Niice shots  I loved the 3rd and I think it was gonna be better if the baloons were fell with water to make it clearer that Air has nothing to do with that :)
