  1. Hi I'm Ryan, I've been a longtime lurker on these forums (since 05) so I guess its time to post a couple photos of my own.

Your brutal honesty is what I am looking for so feel free to tear them apart :)

Technical info: they were are all taken with a 5D or 5D MKII in an ikelite housing without strobes.

Here is the link and thanks for looking: Ocean - a set on Flickr

  2. Wow, some fantastic shots there. Quite a collection. Particularly like the humpback images with sunrays.

Nice surf/windsurf shots you have there too.

  3. Thanks Fergus that means a lot coming from you.

  4. Some of them are just gorgeous. I especially like the humpbacks with the sunrays, the whale sharks and the plane wreck from above. These are great. Some of them I think lack a little bit of contact with the animal, especially those where the animal is swimming away frpm you (the first shot of the dolphins, the turtle).

    Bets regards

    Your shots are amazing. Congratulations.

But what about embedding some shots, if not all of them, in this thread?

It's not so difficult, if you have problems attaching the links, I know somebody will help. Even me!!! LOL

  6. Thanks guys I really appreciate the feedback.

Acuevas, I didn't embed because I'm on a mobile connection at the moment and I figured I would save my bandwidth a little when I check the thread for replies.

  7. Indeed some great photos you have there! Glad to you decided to post, looking forward to see more of your work;)

  8. The humpies are great!

  9. That's a nice set of photos. I liked the whaleshark and turtle shots especially.

  10. They're all very nice. I especially like the shots with the sun rays - I feel it makes them look more "tropical." Great work!

  11. Thanks everyone. Looking at my own images I always find they have a different look than most UW photography. I think its just because I usually do shallow wideangles with no strobes. I bought a Magic filter once but actually never tried it. I dislike color casts other than blues in UW photos so I shied away from using it. Usually wide angles seem to consist of an object in the foreground lit by strobe light and a darker or less detailed background. I'd love to have some strobes but they just sit on the long list of gear I'd like to own.

  12. Great Stuff ! thanks for sharing
