EF 100mm F2.8 L IS USM in old version manual flat port ikelite?

Hi,

The question is in the title. I have the old version of the flat port Ikelite #5508.45.

I want to buy the 100 mm L IS USM. Ikelite say this require the #5508.46.

Is it really needed? does anyone tested before?

that looks like a quite specific port with the focus ring pre installed. The IS lens might be a bit fatter, so it might be necessary.

If it was a port without focus abilities, you just have to make sure the lens doesnt touch the port at its longest setting.
