Strobes for Canon S-50

5 posts
  1. Hi

I own a Canon S-50 Powershot and the Canon underwater housing for it. I'm new to all of this and am seeking advise on what strobes work with this set up. thanks.

    Karen

  2. The popular choices for a slave strobe are:

    Sea & Sea YS90DX

    Inon Z180 and Z220

    Ikelite DS50 and DS125

Do a search on these forums and read the many MBytes of discussion on this topic in the past year or so. Jeff Ferris wrote a review which may also be helpful.

  3. Karen,

Just wanted to add that if you decide on the Ikelite DS 50, be sure to order it with the 10 step manual controller. Depending on which vendor you choose, they may or may not be aware of the Ikelite recommendation for your specific model and all other A and S series Canon digicams.

  4. If you order the Ikelite DS125 you want the manual controller as well, Karen!!

  5. Just to add to Herbko's list few more (the less expensive options)

    Sea&Sea Ys25DX

Epoque 150 (don't remember the exact name)

This 2 are less powerful but also a lot less expensive, I have the YS25, to macro its quit good foe WA less although its surprised me (for good).
