In my paddock of DS-125's, I have an older one.
Its in beautiful, showroom condition. I just can't get the thing to work for long. It would fire a few times, then die. And now, after 2 dives with it, it won't charge at all.
Either the NiCad batt is dead or the charger is bad... the old style 2-light charger just blinks rapidly. Whatever it is, I have a remarkable strobe that I can't use.
I just had this strobe at Ikelite (who I love, BTW) but these guys tried to push a DS160 in me (albeit at a discounted price...) I could care less about upgrading the electronics in this old strobe. I shoot exclusively in manual, and this is one of the strobes on my remote units.
I hooked up one of my NiMH batts to this older Ike DS125 (S/N 3034) and it functions perfectly.
I think all I need is a batt. Of course, I wish Ikelite had just offered a batt to me... oh well.
If you have a NiMH batt for a DS-125 laying around you're not using, I'll take it.
