As per the home page announcement. Looks like a great housing and I reckon will be really popular, especially with the Ninja capture.
It could the housing that really gets them back on track. Great upgrade for EX1 users with nano's. Will be interesting to see what ports are available for various lenses. What would make it a real winner would be due to the link with Aquatica, if you could use stills dome ports with the new Birger mount for canon glass.
Yes it is a bit exciting that a bigger manufacturer finally has real ports for different lenses. It'll be interesting to see how they manage the zoom/focus gear and if the adapters can fit. That Sony A to E adapter is huge!
The port plus extension and gear is going to be as long as the housing body.
Motor drive would be good. The two control grips have one thumb wheel each ... interesting.
I haven't seen the adapter, but surely they could do something...
Rod's in the housings and use RC servos which can be moved for each lens to align with gearing. Exciting times especially with the Canon announcement and the RED announcement on the 3rd Nov.
I'm sure Gates are ready to announce something which isn't an Epic housing.

I agree. It is quite challenging to provide manual focus/zoom for different lenses/brands. I guess one would have to stick with Sony lenses to maintain auto focus/zoom. Can't even think if other lenses would fit given different sizes with different brands.
The housing really looks great. Thanks for the post.

No worries, Aquatica leading designer and manufacturer of pro photo gear has the lens issue figured out and will provide a solution for a wide choice of key underwater use lenses.

Huh did I miss something? Been trying REALLY hard not to look at Red.com but what about a Canon announcement?
Cheers, Simon
Well the word is Scarlet is being announced with new specs (possibly S35 sensor???) and available for purchase on that day.... who knows...
The Canon announcement is unknown, could be a 5D MKIII could be a 4K camera or even a new printer but it will be an interesting day.
Where is the Amphibico FS100 announcement? All I see on the Amphibico page are housings in wild colours to scare the fish away.
My first thought is, will they include ND filters to make up for the FS100's lack of internal ones?
I'm not sure ND filters will be as vital. The smaller lens camcorders have a smaller aperture adjustment (usually f1.8-f11) With big lenses, you can go up to f22, 32 or even 45, depending on lens. With this size sensor, you won't see the diffraction as badly as you would've with 1/3" and smaller sensors.
Furthermore, with underwater shooting, you'd probably want to maintain bigger fstops to protect against soft corners and DOF. It's a little different from topside where trying to minimize DOF is the usual desired effect and protect against diffraction.
Well done amphibico, always a big fan of them. Looking at the camera, i assumed the whole rig will be much more smaller then the EX serries?
Still wondering the Lens and ports issues. How many ports will they creates for this housing? Or maybe ports just for the prime lens? Im quite blur now.....
anyway good luck to amphibico@aquatica.

On the same day? Wow pretty cool. I can't believe that RED would have an actual product for sale the on very same day that they announce a spec change though. I just can't keep up with my optimism constantly being crushed so right now I'm just assuming Scarlet with never happen. Please don't tell me otherwise!!
Cheers, Simon
Ummm ordering starts Nov 3rd... not delivery!
The 1DX and other forthcoming cameras simply will kill Scarlet with a 2/3 sensor. Watch out Nov 3rd
1DX does look nice. Now cam we have it camcorder shaped please with all bells and whistles attached and working?!!
November 3rd. Looks like it will be a long day....
