FS: Sea and Sea DX-D200 housing for the Nikon D200

  1. Perfect working and excellent cosmetic condition.

I've had this housing for five years, but used this housing infrequently as I have had other housings at the same time. It is in perfect working condition. It includes the stock Sea and Sea shoes and comes with two EO bulkheads. The bulkhead is where you connect an underwater flash unit to the housing. It also comes with an Inon 45-degree viewfinder that is permanently mounted on the housing. The mounting was done by Backscatter.

The EO bulkhead is for use with strobes that use EO sync cords. Most underwater flash units will allow EO cables to be used on them, but you need to have the cables made by someone who knows what he is doing. I have Ikelite Substrobe 200 underwater flash units that work with EO cables in case you need strobes. If you are using EO cords, then you have to shoot your flash units in manual mode. I've never found this to be a problem, especially with digital, as you simply adjust the power settings on your strobes or move them back or forth to get the amount of flash lighting that you need.

If you wish this housing to be converted back to the standard Nikonos V bulkheads, this can be easily done by an underwater technician. I recommend the good folks at Reef Photo to do this; I will pick up the cost to have this housing put back to the original state of Nikonos V bulkheads or work with you to have whatever bulkheads you would like. If you would like anything other than Nikonos or the existing EO bulkheads, any conversion will be at your cost. If you want the existing EO bulkhead or Nikonos V bulkheads, I will pick up the cost.

This is one of the best housings for the Nikon D200 camera that was made. I wrote a very comprehensive review of three different D200 housings a few years ago for wetpixel:

More images of the housing can be seen at:

Price: $1350, reasonable offers considered. I estimate that the housing should sell for around $900. The Inon viewfinder adds $450 to the cost. New Inon viewfinders sell for $900! Used viewfinders sell for $600 to $750.

If you are interested, please contact Norbert Wu at temp1_at_norbertwu.com. Please no phone calls. I am happy to entertain other offers. I can accept Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. Money orders and personal checks will have to clear my bank before the product is shipped; which can take up to three weeks. Shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping via one of the above methods.

    Thanks!

  2. Dear Norb,

I am just putting together an UW setup with a D200. I already have a DX D200 housing, but am interested in adding a 45 degree viewfinder. Do you know whether adding the Inon to your housing was straight forward or how much modification was needed?

    Thanks and best wishes,

    David
