oly 3040 tetra housing nik 105 strobe

I am having problems with the strobe overexposing everything.

I need to be able to "shoot from the hip" when in the water, as we are shooting clients on dives, and don't have time to be using manual settings (unless of course thet are 'set and forget")

any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.
