Under my balkony...

20 posts
  1. Hi gang!

It's been wayyy tooo long since I posted some pictures here. Mostly because I haven't had time to take any... :B):

Been busy with a new baby in the family and moving to Norway for this winter. I promised myself to find more time for UW photography and WP ;)

So I started to fullfill my promise by exploring whats going on under my balcony. Made a dive and here's what I got. Not anything special, but I'm sure glad that I have a lot of interesting stuff literally 10 meters (30 ft) from my livingroom! :) Enjoy!

The first one is me getting ready (taken by the missis) ;)

  3. Best of luck with the new baby and the move Karel. Maybe if he/she keeps you up at night you can do some night dives! :B):

    I like the crab...

  4. That is a great bunch of pictures from the verandah! I especially like the hermit crab.

    Cheers Bent

Ha ha. It is the same in the UK (1 hour time difference helps) - it is very convenient to be able to night dive so early. I have never done a UK night time in summer.

  7. That is really cool to be able to go for a dive straight out of your living room.

    Great pics also

  8. Hello Karel , glad to see again your so beautiful pictures !

Lucky man , playing ground just below his house :B)::)

  9. Very nice Karel. You obviously selected your new home with a great deal of care. Would you like a lodger?

EDIT: Correction, CJ just looked over my shoulder and told me that he wants to live there! 2 lodgers?

  10. That my friend appears to be a brillant move. What's the water temp there?

    Cheers,

    Steve

Brrrr, Steve. Think single figures celcius. That's why Karel wants to be only 30 feet from a warm shower :B):

I'd be thinking about a real long pole cam from the balcony.

    Cheers,

    Steve

  13. Great shots. I would LOVE to be able to walk 30 feet and get to diving where you can see things, even if it is cold :B):

Congrats on the home and family...

  14. Think single figures celcius.

That is not too bad. Around me for about 1/2 the year it is about 4-5 degrees Celsus in the water, visibility of .5 meters at the surface and nothing that is photogenic. Or really found in nature. :B):

  15. Steve - The water temp is 6 degrees Celsus at the moment, but its gonna drop down to 2 degrees in 3 - 4 weeks. So usually max divetime is 40 min. Then its getting problematic to press the buttons on the housing with numb fingers :B):

Tim - yes I actually did look a place near the sea, but what I got was better than I expected. You are welcome to join me with CJ - I'm not using the second floor anyway :)

I know the pain! Its the same in Estonia - You have water but no visibilty and nothing to photograph...

  17. Great shots and nice water clarity!

I have the sea below my workplace; the building is on pilings. The underwater vis is generally poor. I can hear sea otter pups screaming for their moms from inside my office!

  20. What a great set up and nice pictures!

I live almost as close to the sea as you, but the water is brown and murky and only fit for sea kayaking on!

Thanks for sharing and all the best with your new house.
