We went to DEMA last week and stopped by at Crystal River for a manatee snorkel trip. Vis was a bit poor in the manatee area. Here are some shots taken with Nauticam NA-D7000 and Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye. No strobes.

Bye bye manatees!
Well worth the visit if you can make it, a wonderful experience on a par with the seals in the UK.
Lovely; were the manatee gestapo in attendance? Were all these shot without putting your head underwater?
All by snorkeling yes and no duck-diving.

Nice shots Alex!
Although I already had a preview
Manatees rock! It's so nice to have photographic subjects that actually seek you out AND that you have to push back from to get a decent shot. Love.

Wow Alex, wonderful pics and usual. Really love these.
Alex,
Did you shoot with no strobes by choice or were they not allowed? Love the first on and they all look great. Fun stuff!
Cheers,
Steve
Hi Alex,
I raly like the second shot.

Hi folks,
Yes, it was a good day-perfect antidote to a hectic DEMA!
Whilst the water conditions made for challenging shooting, the interaction with these guys is amazing!
I used strobes and had no problems with any authorities.
No press!
I think this is definitely going to become a regular post-Orlando DEMA event. I know two years is a long way off, but for those planning to attend the next one, pencil in an trip!

Nice ones Alex and Adam - I always love manatees. I am glad you got some manatees and sun (not a guarantee) even if the viz wasn't perfect (although I have seen it a lot worse)!
For anyone who hasn't been I always show people this video I shot (with a compact) showing how the manatees love a tickle! They are slow - but that makes for a very chilled out experience.
