Does anyone here know how / where I could obtain older obsolete gear? Specifically I would like to find a good housing for my Canon Powershot G9. I've searched everywhere for Ikelite 6147.09 and Patima PDCH G9 to no avail - tried Ebay and various outlets that used to sell these - they don't seem to be available. Is there an after market or specialist second hand UW photography shop? Any advice and suggestions would be very welcome.
I'm not keen on the Canon housing WP-DC21 which is still available for this camera as I've heard it has limited functionality - no ability to change the jog wheel underwater to select Aperture etc. and poor housing build - does anybody have any experience with this housing?
Jose, I can't help you re the ike housing but I have the canon G9 housing and love it. It is a common misunderstanding re not being able to use all the camera functions because you can. I use it with an INON macro lens with fitting adapter. It is not suitable however with any wide angle lens. I looked at the ike housing but Find them a bit 'boxy'. Hope this helpsCaroline

I have the G9 and Ikelite Housing (6147.09), I would just add a word of warning if you do find an Ike housing and want to add a wide angle lens you will need to replace the standard flat port with a different version (9305.97) as the original port is too far away from the camera lens and the amount of zooming required negates the point of the wide angle, the warning is that the replacement port is also unavailable from Ikelite or their distributors. I did manage to find a replacement port made by Dyron who were extremely helpful, make sure you get the Dyron G9 version as the G10/11 version doesn't fit the housing.
Good luck with your search (I found one on e-bay but the at the moment I can only find housings and cameras combined, although not a bad idea if the price is right to have a spare camera, as i found out to my cost last year!!! flooded G9, ouch!)

If you're still looking for a G9 housing I have one to sell along with a flat port and an Epoque wide angle lens. If you're planning on using an Ikelite strobe I also have a sync cord for sale.
