  1. Slaves carried by other divers -> cool photos

I found some cool photos from Mexican caves.

They use intresting technique. One of the divers is carrying a big strobe with slave sensor which is triggered with the strobes on the camera. This way you get nicely lit foreground and background. In the picture above it seems that the diver is holding an Ikelite slave sensor in his right hand.

I am going to test techinique by getting a slave sensor for my SS200, but I have few questions regarding the cords with slaves and manual controllers:

From Ike's site it looks like that the TTL slave sensors have quite short cords. Can you order them with longer cords or do I have to use extension cords?

Also thinking of getting a DS-125 with manual controller, but the straight cord from the manual controller to strobe looks too short for my 32 inch strobe arms. Can this cord be replaced with longer twisted cord?

If using manual controller, the cord from camera to controller can be fair bit shorter than the one I use now. Are these cords available also in shorter lenghts?

What is the maximum working distance from camera strobes to slave sensor (in clear water) ?

  2. I am told National Geographic has some cave shots showing our strobe systems in use. The TTL Sensor and Manual Controller should operate dependably up to 100 feet from the triggering strobe although we advertise only 50 feet. We have occasionally made special length cord models for people, but are so far behind at this time that we must recommend the extension cords.
