Choosing the Right Strobe

  1. I have a Nikon Coolpix P7000 and am planning on purchasing a Fantasea housing for it. I also need to get an appropriate strobe. I plan on being a generalist with regard to the types of pictures I take (macro, wide angle, etc.). I will not be a heavy user in that I typically take one dive trip per year. I have been looking at the Ikelites and the Sea and Seas, however, I am open to suggestions.

    Thanks.

  2. You might consider the smaller Inon strobes as well.

  3. The Sea & Sea YS-01 is a good option, if you want to save a $100, the YS-02 is the same without TTL or a target light. the camera will run much faster on manual anyway...

The Ike's will be too expensive as by the time you add a manual fiber optic connector you're close to $500.
