  1. [beginner] Housing + light + wideye-lens for a Sony PC-5

    Ok, here goes:

I've done some brief search in my hunt for a complete setup that would make me able to take my Sony PC-5 under water, but I'm not sure about what would be the best buy for my camera. I know that my PC-5 only is a 1-chip camera etc etc, but then I don't have the money to spend on a better DV cam.

So, what I would like you good people to answer is:

    * what (apart from the housing) do a really (really) need? I guess a light or two is neccesary, especially since I live and dive in Sweden with murky waters. But what about a wide angle lens? Is that neccesary? I've heard that I can't do without it, but is that true?

Ok, so what about the brand? From what I understand, there's only two manufacturers that does housings for my Sony PC-5 and that's Ikelite and Nimar.

This http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/sony_pc5.html looks like a good housing, and this: http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/videolite.html looks like a pretty ok videolight. But do I need 50W or 100W to shoot decent scenes? And the wide-eye lens? Where can I find information about price and availability?

I plan to buy my setup in th US, and have emailed with B&H in the US about prices. It seems, however, that the guys at B&H doesn't know very much about their products (I got first offered one housing and two handheld divelamps!)...

Ok, should anyone feel like answering my beginner-questions I'd be a happy guy =) I really really want to shoot some uw-scenes when I go to Norway in 2 months. And then there's that trip to Bonaire in summer... and...

  2. This forum is about digital still cameras. If you ask in the video forum, you'll get better answers.

The ikelite stuff is great, but I don't know about video lites.
