Cave diving videos filmed with a CamOne infinity

4 posts
  1. Hi, I uploaded some short videos on YouTube shot while cave diving in Yucatan's cenotes with a small CamOne infinity (a tiny GoPro like action cam).

It's actually possible to use the original DiveBox with domed lens for underwater takes, when pre-adjusting the camera's focus by rotating its lens about a quarter turn. I was also fortunate enough to get a flat-lens-prototype from aquapixs for trial purposes at my own risk. Replacing the DiveBox's domed lens with a flat one allows one to shoot both above and below water in Full HD (without needing to change the camera's focus).

Anyways, if interested in what such a tiny camera can do, have a look and feel free to ask me any questions. Lighting used were two TillyTec LED 2000 VIDEO heads (each more expensive than the camera), and sometimes the guide (being filmed) also carries an additional video light.

  2. Amazing cave diving videos (clear, well-exposed and sharp!)! Thanks for posting!

Makes me look forward to my next trip even more!

  3. Nice videos!!

Now I want to come back to Playa de Carmen.

It's a good thing that GoPro will have competition, that way they will need to rethink some strategies.

Like selling the GoPro 2 Naked, they refuse to sell the version 2 without the housing, if you want to use a custom housing you end up buying parts that you will never use.

It would be nice to have a comparison between the GoPro 2 and the CamOne related to the ISO noise in low light situations.

  4. Nice stuff.
