Trip report to follow, some day. Great trip on the Damai, only 8 guest, fantastic crew, 2 divers per guide, nice camera room and all about photogs. Want to stay at a site, great, no problem. Move fine. 1/2 of you want to go there and the other half there, ok. Did not even realize Mike Veitch was our Cruise Director till well into the trip, duh. He actually had good advice on lenses for dive sites, lol. Plus as you can see quite the way with the dragons.
Critique of photos welcome
Gorgeous stuff NW- they are all stunning...... even Mr. Schwarzenegger's........er...... Mr. Veitch's...dragon face off...:-D
...
Thanks, this guy thought Mike maybe enough of a meal to take a swim for...
Feel free to critique, pick favorites, ones you don't like always interested in what works or does not.
That's one cute little chameleon!!!
Fantastic fish action in the last image!!
That was nuts, they were feeding on Sargent Major Eggs, first the wrasse and then the butterflies, can't wait to see the video.
Love the octo shot and the schooling action Martin -- great stuff
Hmmm Mikey's tummy seems to be inflating!
I'm just wondering how is it you didn't know Mike was the cruise director? Did he introduce himself at the beginning or did he pretend to be a guest?
Thanks for the compliments. No Mike did an excellent job. Just general cluelessness on my part and being horrible with names. Get on board, start setting up, blah, blah, blah.
Are you sure you got the White Balance right on that shot of the pole cam? Mike looks a little pasty for a guy who lives in the tropics.
Cheers,
Steve
Lovely set of pics. I really like the 5th one down - very nice macro work.
Thanks for sharing - Diverpam
Steve.. Professionals must wear a shirt... and shave once a week whether needed or not! Besides, my forearms are quite tanned!
Drew- shut up
Martin- was good to meet you and thanks again for the gift I did think you look confused when i mentioned the greenforce lights i bought off of you on the first day! haha
Old age and jet lag, tough combo. By the way I have a lightly used pair of L&M Sunray 2000s if your interested....lol Just booked the Damai II for Raja Feb of 2013!
Great images, except for Mike dicing with dragon spit (quite the most noxious substance in the animal kingdom) and breaking half-a-dozen Indonesian rules...
