  4. Does anyone know what camera/lenses/microscope/lighting was used to make this video? I can't find anything about "the making of".

The only info I can find so far is:

"Plankton samples were collected and filmed at the Villefranche-sur-Mer Marine Station and on board the schooner Tara using dark field optics and macro lenses or microscopes equipped with HD SLR cameras."

  5. Pretty typical scoop and put in beaker/tank or under microscope with DSLR mounted with an adapter.

Dark field optics simply means black background by using lights or in a studio.

  6. Ha ha...I guessed as much.

I've just picked up an old but nice Olympus CH-2...and am patiently waiting for the DSLR eyepiece adapter to arrive.

The video is of a nice technical standard to work towards.
