  1. inon x2 housing, some more info - non official

ok, i am sure mark will give a full report soon, but here's some info i have gathered on the inon x2 housing that confirms the suspicions voice on this board:

    - target release date this summer

    - no true ttl, but it uses at the front of the body a sensor that will then control the strobes

    - both z220 and d180 strobes can be connected though their operation will be different, the d180 will be controlled the same way as with a compact digital, whereas - z220 strobe will be able controlled through a dial on the housing

    - there is a remote shutter trigger, that will be triped via a light source such as another strobe

    - fully compatible with the X1 lens port family

there that's about all i know.

so for those who are waiting for true ttl for the canon 10d (excluding the canon 550ex), your hopes now are on aquatica if they decide to do a 10d housing after the 300d housing....

still looks like a beautiful housing though...

  2. Did you get this info from Inon, and is the data for the U.S. or for Japan.

  3. The reason that I ask, is that Mark at Inon said they are not sure about a U.S. release at all.

  4. even if Inon USA doesn't release the housing, it will be available in Japan, and available gray market.

  5. i got the info from discussing with yuzo at uwdigitalcamera.com. we have been exchanging mails since he returned from the tokyo dive show.

i was interested in purchasing it directly from japan and having shipped to my place in france but give the fact that it does not support "true" ttl then i am a lot less interested in it.

  6. Ryan: Will you be selling it or more to the point will you be supporting it with things like 0-rings and accessories?

    thanks
