  1. Are ZDNet reviews biased? Camera for Jet ski use

    Hello all

    Just found this site today, and what a wealth of info to be found. :D

    It's a daunting task trying to narrow down a short list for a digital camera - and the situation changes when I revisit it every few months.

    I came across the reviews on ZDNet a number of months ago and found them rather informative. Is it just me or do the reviewers there seem pro Canon and dislike everything else???

    I jet ski and I want a digi I can take out with me.

    At first I was attracted to an Oly MJU400 because of the "weatherproof" case. This would be handy by the waterside and I have the option of adding the PT-016 housing. The ZDNet review turned me right off the MJU400 - is it really that bad for what it is??? What about the C-750?

    Olympus, until the of March in Australia, are offering cash rebates which suggests new models are coming out. I'd hate to buy a digi now and find a much better model comes out in 60 days time. Many models have an end of life this March/April.

    I been searching through the posts here but would still appreciate any recommendations to suit my requirements:

    * Housing available

    * Prefer 4MP (funds are limited)

    * Prefer standard batteries like AAs

    * Better than 3x optical

    * Low shutter lag

    I was looking at the Oly 5060 and 5050 yesterday but these are above my budget. Even the salesman conceded the 5050 has a better lens. Is the 10x optical on the C-750 that wonderful? The 3.2MP Minolta Z1 gets rave reviews but no housing? No brand bias here.

    Sorry, lots of questions, any help warmly received.
