Madagascar info requested

Hi all,

I am thinking about travelling to Madagascar in August 2004 does anyone have any experience or views on what the UW photo opportunities will be like ?

(the pemba trip is off as August is rather windy reducing both vis and number of accessible sites)

Northern Madagascar is pretty cool, but I think the weather will be the same as in Pemba. That living fossil-fish lives around the northern tip too.

Most of the Indian Ocean between Africa and India is pretty poor during August.

Thanks for the advice I was a bit worried that might be the case. When did you dive there and did you get to see a Coelacanth ?

No it was too deep, but the minisub expedition found them in 2000. This was on TV some time back.
