Ritz has Canon 1D Mk II for (pre) order

Hi, guys. The Canon 1D Mk II is now finally listed on Ritz' website. I think OneCall and State Street Direct have had pre-orders on their sites for some time as well.

That will take you to the Canon store at Ritz. To get to the 1DMkII, click over to "Digital Cameras" and then "Digital SLRs." It's listed near the bottom.

Or, click on the "Digital" category icon and then click on page 2 and look near the end.

I'm not sure if clicking over to the store will give Wetpixel credit for anything you buy at Ritz, but it's worth a shot, I guess.

I know that Ritz has been taking names on the telephone for awhile now. However, I'm not sure how this pre-order list will be merged with the telephone list.

I’m glad you told us about the pre-orders status. I called about two week ago and got on what I thought was a pre-order list from Ritz, they told me I was number two on that list.

I called this morning and mentioned Wet Pixel and asked about my position on the pre-order list.

Looks like I wasn’t on the list at all, but I am now and I’m number seven.

Glad you got on the list. I just got my order in as well.

One note about Ritz: if you order it online, in theory Wetpixel gets a cut. But on the phone, there is no affiliate relationship.

Every time I’ve purchased a large ticket item over the internet my credit card company has frozen my account. It seems they think the card might have been stolen and they need to call me first and verify that I did in fact make the purchase. The last time it happened was this past Christmas, it was frozen but they didn’t call . I found out days later when my credit card was rejected at my local gas station.

I did how ever tell the sales person at Ritz that I was making the purchase with the recommendation from WetPixel.
