  1. More from Thailand ( better late than never )

I spent a week at the Similans over the New Years holidays and finally got around to sorting out the photos. The gallery is at

  2. Good work!

I like the 2nd most. It is a perfect portrait of an amazing animal.

Regarding the manata ray I suggest to crop differently with less space on the right.

  3. Herb, as always, nice work. My personal favorite is the seahorse, as I like the subtle lighting on the head.

I like the composition of the manta, but it seems a little less than sharp at the head.

I like the moray shot from the gallery as well. Great eye contact.

Good job, something for the rest of us to strive to attain.

  4. Very nice!

Some "Dust and Scratches" filtering would make them even better

  5. Great lighting Herb.

I like the GPF and soft corals especially.

  6. I think the seahorse shot is exquisite! (that's a word, right?)

Did you use a diffuser and single strobe for that one?

    Cheers

    James

Time to go check out the gallery.

  7. Excellent images, Herb ! I like the lighting on most of your shots, especially the Seahorse. The colours on the Ghost Pipefish came out nicely.

    Cheers.

  8. Beautiful shots! The manta ray was breathtaking when it first popped up on the screen. I like how the seahorse image is partly hidden in the shadows and part of it is highlighted. Kind of mysterious. Nice mood. 8)

  9. Herb, very nice shots...........I really like the color and detail of the ghost pipefish

  10. Thanks. These are the last of the 5050 photos. Moving on to newer toys....
