  1. Sea & Sea DX-10D

Has anyone seen the DX-10D housing yet (not the preproduction but the actual housing)? I normally buy my gear through Backscatter but they are still waiting on the housing.

    Thanks

    Mike

  2. I saw it at DEMA.

    Cheers

  3. Thanks James

I should clarify what I am asking…Has anyone seen the housing for sale?…I am not sure Sea & Sea Has shipped it yet. I am getting anxious to go digital!

  4. I know of 3 users of the S&S Plastic housings who've had problems with them...requiring a return to S&S for repair/refits...another friend who had no problems bought his from a dealer who tweaked it for the camera to ensure that it worked...unless you've got an investment in S&S ports, you may want to look at the Jonah housings as another alternative if cost is an issue...I personally use a Subal C10 with my 10D.

    My 2 cents....

  5. I just picked up a Sea and Sea housing for the D100. I believe the initial problems came up because the housing "box" is so big that the control shafts are TREMENDOUSLY long. They wiggle around and can be hard to hit the buttons with.

The new Sea and Sea housing is much more form fitting and I hope this solves past problems. We'll see.

    Sincerely,

    James Wiseman

  6. In my case, using the S&S for the D60, the housing works, it's just not what I would buy again. It's bigger than needed (and could probably fit a 1Ds in terms of volume), and S&S didn't do very good with the viewfinder. TThe 10D version most likely shares the same viewfinder issue. The ports are of good quality, if limited in terms of support for lenses. If I were doing it over, or moving to the 10D, I'd seriously look at Subal...
