Sipidan/Borneo Orangutans Lenses?????

2 posts
  1. Doing 3-4 days of Orangutans, river, jungle tours. Is it worth packing the Nikon 200-400mm 4.0???

Or do you get close enough the Nikon 70-200mm is enough?

Don't mind hiking with the 200-400 just wondering if it is overkill?

Also doing Turtle Island (?), to see nesting sea turtles, do they allow you to use flashes at night?

    Thanks for any input.

  2. I would certainly bring the 200-400 for orangutans and other stuff seen in trees. I have often used a 70-200 with extender, but more often than not wanted more reach. If you go for feedings of orangutans or proboscis monkeys a 70-200 can be enough though.

Never been to Turtle island, so I know nothing about flashes policy there.

    Cheers Bent
