z240 and D2000

  1. Hi!

i have a d7000 in nautcam housing and i want to switch from ikelite to inon strobes. i got a pretty new z240 type 4 ans i need a second strobe. buying two new strobes is a little expensive :( i have a good offer for an older inon d2000 (type 2 or 3). can you use these in combination with the new z240? or will this cause any problems??

please tell me about your experience.

    thanx a lot

  2. As long as you trigger your strobes with a fiberoptic cable its fine!

I'm using the same combi with my EOS7D.

Only issue is that the strength of the strobes are not the same, so you have to compensate for it by a stop or so (turn down the 240 by a stop).

  3. Morten's right, but imbalanced strobes create depth: an alternative is to use the z240 as a key light and the D2000 as fill. In manual or sTTL (optical trigger) modes they work well together.

And the worst Inon abuse that I've yet seen? Two z240s and three D2000s...

  4. thanx. i'll go for it then !
