  1. If anyone has any experience using the referenced lens with a Kenko 1.4 TC would you mind posting an image or two, and discussing any problems, issues or benefits of this combination.

    Thanks,

    Bryce

  2. Well it would effectively be a 49mm lens, could your budget stretch to a 60mm lens or are you simply wanting to play around with a combo

of parts you have? Any particular sort of subjects you are wanting to shoot with it?

    Cheers,

    Jim.

  3. I already have a 60mm macro. I just want to experiment with the combo, but I don't have the lens yet and would like to see what is possible before buying the lens. I shoot a lot of North American freshwater fishes in fast flowing streams and rivers and I get into areas/situations in which the 60mm is too narrow, not enough background and my 12-24mm is too wide. I'm thinking the 35mm might be a good compromise and with the addition of the TC I could squeeze a little more magnification out of it if I need it.

  4. Combination works fine ... but you have to come very close ... not for moving objects!

  5. Do you need 1:1? If not, consider the Sigma 17-70 "macro" with 1:2 @ 70 mm. Also, I like it for top side work. The Sigma glass is "warmer" and not quite a contrasty as Nikkor lens.

P.S. Doesn't Niikon make a 40 mm marco for DX?
