  1. Help!!! First time user of external Strobes.

Help!! I finally got around to testing my new INON 220s strobes with my Oly 4040 in Ikelite housing. Anyway, the strobes seem to be firing fine, however, my camera isn't picking up the light. What is the cause of this? Is the preflash activating the strobes too early?

I'm new at this, so any leads would be appreciated on this problems and others that newbie-strobe-guys like me will probably experience. Any help for me to avoid these common pitfalls would be appreciated. Are there some good links for me to check out?

    Thanks so much.

  2. I figured it out. I was dumping too much light on my preflash and not saving any for the actual picture. Did some tests and the Z-220s' seem to be working great. I am amazed at how much light they are producing at half dump (-2). I tried a few macro shot and had to raise the arms all the way up and turn the strobes all the way down to keep from washing out the picture. I'm not sure how that will be underwater.

  3. For macro at ISO 100, I would turn it down to -4 or -5 depending on subject distance.
