already cleaned up most of the backscatter and made some basic adjustments.. wishing I had my macro lens on instead of my wide angle but overall i'm happy with the results.

    opinions/suggestions are welcome.

  2. Which lens and setup were you using...

Nice Nudi.... your strobe positioning could have helped with reducing the backscatter - unless it was just one of those days....

  3. I kinda like this shot. I've seen and taken tons of Nudi closeups but seeing the background in full color and focus gives a different, and in my view, pleasing effect. I would try making a vertical out of it to see if that works. The right side is particulary uninteresting. Also, I might carefully remove or shorten the stick directly in front of the nudi. It appears that something is preventing a clear view of the lungs in back. That might become objectional in a vertical.

  4. the shot was taken in the sound here, any wind and visibility goes down quickly.. the entire dive there was a ton of particles in the water column not much I could have done to get rid of the back scatter in the shot without doing it in post.

the gear used is a canon 40d, tokina 10-17mm, and 2 sea&sea 110a. Should have been using my 100mm macro but I had heard rays and even sharks made it into the sound so I figured i'd go wide angle. I'll look into cropping it differently and see what I can come up with.

    thanks for the suggestions.

  5. agree with Tom R1 a vertical would have been nice...

  7. Yes! I like the vertical. Very cool nudi. Macro woulda been nice, but I think it's pretty good. Where'd you see this little guy?

You can't see the lungs for the gills...

    ... they're nudibranchs, not nudipneusts!
