FINALLY BOUGHT THE STROBE!!!!!

  1. FINALLY BOUGHT THE STROBE!!!!!

To Herb and Eric and all the many people who I have bugged relentlessly for the last couple months, I just wanted to say THANK YOU and announce that I have finally bought my strobe. I bought it from www.uwdigitalcamera.com here in Japan and they have been EXCELLENT in answering a ton of questions from me over a two week period(even sent me shots of rigs they put together to demonstrate).

I ended up buying the Z220. I respect the DS-125 a whole lot and still envy it, but for my main purpose--which is freediving--the Z220 seemed the way to go in terms of compactness.

I must say I am amazed. I left my 90,000 yen downstairs and about an hour ago, one of our secretaries came up with a small little box for me. I was immediately worried. I thought that maybe the order was in two parts. I started to worry and immediately ripped open the box. Unbelievably, the Z220 and the tray and arm system all fit in a small box. I have in my office here the Inon box in which my WAL and dome unit arrived last trip and IT'S BIGGER THAN MY STROBE/ARM BOX! I still am in shock. The Z220 fits into the palm of my hand. I must say I AM IMPRESSED! Now, to get it in the water...

To everyone who added their $.02 to the strobe discussion a while back, a big warm Mahalo!

What, you want to get that baby wet?

Congrats on your purchase, we await the piccies.

  3. That might be another week or so in the making...I don't get home to Hawaii for a week or so...

  4. Hawaii? I really didn't need to hear that. I'm stuck here in the north of the UK and can't dive until my wife delivers. The weather is overcast with a touch of chilly. And I'm going nowhere!

Still, like you, the next time I dive I'll also be going in with my new Inon Strobe and WAL. Something to look forward to.

  5. Hope you have two strobes for that WAL...I'll be shooting Macro until the next investment :-)
